About Chubby Chicken

The story behind the reviews

Meet the Chubby Chicken

My name is Bob.

Whether it's a hole-in-the-wall Chinese spot like China May, or a fancy steakhouse like Cap Grille, you'll never catch a crumb left on my plate. I'm family first. Water still never bottled (you know what I mean). I love the finer things in life—like dropping an extra $8 on that wine sauce for my filet mignon without hesitating, but don't get me started on paying a buck in tax. I'm known for getting up out of my seat to remind the waiter for my missing refill and my signature hand motion to ask for the check. Manhattans and Old Fashioneds are the usual, and you better believe I end every night with carrot cake... and few bites of everyone elses dessert. I live for great waiters and appreciate the dedication to their craft. I'll ask about menu items I've had a million times just because. Everytime I'm out to eat, I feel the need to explain the BMW rule: bread, meal, water. I always know exactly what I'm ordering, but when the server comes, I act like I'm still deciding. And if I casually ask if anyone wants a specific appetizer? Yeah, that's because I want it. At the end of the day, I'm just a chubby chicken who loves eating out with his family.

No corporate sponsors, no filtered opinions. Just genuine reviews from someone who takes their food seriously (maybe a little too seriously).

What to Expect

Honest Reviews

I tell it like it is. If something's great, you'll know by the tilting of the head, squinting of the eyes and lips pushed out like blowing a whistle. If it's disappointing, you'll know that too.
